The geeks out there are familiar with an app known as IFTTT, an automation app that makes life a little more pleasant. Well, Tasker is one such app. The concept here is simple, you create a “recipe” for actions based on a particular trigger. For the none tech savvy, all this means is that you can make your phone perform a certain task when a particular trigger occurs. For example, in case of a missed call, you can set your phone to automatically send a message to the caller informing them that you are away from your phone. Another example,…

WE HAVE A VIDEO REVIEW OF THE SAME, WATCH IT HERE Infinix have been quite busy these past days. With the Note 3 teasers, the unknown fate of the Hot S and the surfacing rumours of the apparent Hot 4, but what you might not know, is that Infinix have a wearable device. The Infinix X-Band is the brand’s first wearable, we have had it for quite some time now and this is our full review. Design When it comes to the design of the X-Band one thing is prominent, its resemblance with the Huawei Talkband 2. This isn’t entirely…
Have you ever wanted to change a certain habit that you have? Probably change your diet? Exercise more or even wake up earlier? Well, we all know it is not easy trying to change a habit, but the beauty of technology is that we can always use it to our advantage. It does this by giving you a virtual coach who will “guide” you through your journey. Setting up the app…
Google have been working on a new launcher to probably replace the existing Google Now Launcher that comes preinstalled on Nexus devices. Well, the apk source file of the launcher has leaked and you can now try out the new Nexus Launcher yourself. I did install the launcher on a Xiaomi RedMi Note 2 and it works like a charm (maybe it’s because the device is running a custom ROM), I however tried installing it on a rooted Tecno Camon C5 and it kept force closing. I must say that the launcher looks sleek. It is nothing like what I…
Infinix has been up and about, from one university to the other with the #InfinixNaMacomrades Campus Tour, aiming to promote their brand and their devices. I was invited to one such event, last week during the IYF Youth Camp at the Moi International Sports Center (Kasarani) and here is a short recap of how it went down. We had various services being offered by Infinix but the highlight and purpose of my invite was the #InfinixMoments challenge. No, I wasn’t invited to compete or be a judge but to show Infinix fans how to take great shots with their Infinix…
It is very evident that Infinix are gearing up to launch the Note 3, with them flaunting the hashtag #NoteThe Speed on social media. As always, with a new phone awaiting launch, comes the long list of leaks and rumours. I have put together an elaborate list of what you should expect when the Infinix Note 3 launches some time in August. In terms of design, it is not a rumour anymore, we have seen images of the upcoming Note 3 surface on Infinix’s forum and I am pretty sure there will be no suprises when it comes to that.…
As exams near for me, I had to look for an app that will help me focus on my studies and stay away from twitter (not that I’m an addict). Forest, is an app that is beautifully built, with an interesting motivation for you to stay away from your phone. Whenever you want to focus on other things in your life, it could be a meeting, a date, watching a movie, working or even reading a book, you just open the Forest app, set the time you want to stay focused and “grow your tree”. I know I just confused…
When it comes to wearable tech, we do not have many of these in Kenya. When Tecno announced that they would be launching a wearable alongside the Camon C9, I was definitely excited about it. The T-Band retails at around KES.3000, a much affordable price point compared to other offerings from the likes of Sony and Samsung (I know we have the cheap “smart watch” knock-offs from China but I won’t even consider those). First things first, it is very important that you understand, the T-Band is not a smart watch, but a fitness tracker. This means that the main…
Today we’re looking at one app that is not necessary, but is a great addition to your phone anyway. Accuweather Background FX is an app that is designed to update your wallpaper with weather effects. No, it is not a widget, it’s an app that overlays beautiful weather effects on your wallpaper. This is an app for people who like having weather widgets on their home screen. You can make your phone look even cooler with this app. Accuweather Background FX is a great weather app that I would recommend to anyone who wishes to see how the weather is…
Parallel Space is one of those apps that you discover, use and never look back. Parallel Space is an android app that lets you have multiple accounts of a single app on one device. Before instagram added the multiple account, this app would have been very useful to adda second account on instagram, but that does not mean it is no longer useful. People who have dual sim phones will enjoy the benefits of Parallel Space more. You can run two WhatsApp accounts, simultaneously. This means that you can have your personal WhatsApp account and maybe your business’ account on…
