During the last quarter of 2015 (Q4 2015), Microsoft managed to sell only 4.5 Million Lumia smartphones. During this same period, the company saw its revenue drop by 49% from the same period the previous year. Back in Q4 2014, over 10.5 Million Lumia smartphones were sold and so the 4.5 million figure is a big drop. 2015 was a very good year for smartphone manufacturers according to the IDC. The company reports that over 1.43 billion smartphones were shipped globally last year and this represents an increase of slightly over 10% compared to the previous year (2014).
