The strengthening of the U.S. dollar compared to foreign currencies had a significant impact on Oracle Corporation  2016 Q2 results with total revenues down 6% at US$9 billion. Cloud plus On-Premise software revenues were US$7 billion, down 4% in U.S. dollars and up 2% in constant currency. Orange presented the “2015 Orange AMEA Developers Challenge” prize to FarmConnecta yesterday evening during the Cairo ICT event. Airtel Kenya and Standard Chartered Bank today reiterated their commitment to offer free access to mobile banking to their customers through Airtel Money. The partnership which was first launched in 2009 when Airtel began mobile money services has seen Airtel customers who bank with Standard Chartered Bank enjoy seamless access to their bank accounts. As the court battle between BitPesa and Safaricom goes on, the Central Bank of Kenya has come forward and commented on the use of bitcoins and other digital currencies in the country. The CBK has said such digital currencies are unregulated and have been linked to money laundering and even terrorism. In a statement, the CBK said, “Domestic and international money transfer services in Kenya are regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya Act and other legislation.
