Last month WhatsApp officially ditched support for Windows-powered smartphones. But it’s about time the same applies for old Android phones and iPhones. The company announced that the end of support is mainly because old devices won’t be able to accommodate the new features planned to be availed on the platform in the future. WhatsApp will end support for any Android running Android 2.3.7 (and earlier versions) and iPhones with iOS 8 and below as of January 31st. Netflix subscribers in Kenya will now pay in the local currency. The company announced its plans by sending an email to paying subscribers on Tuesday this week. Netflix will switch to the new model in your next billing after the announcement date. This, Netflix says, “is part of our ongoing work to improve Netflix for our members in Kenya.” Netflix has been in Kenya since early 2016 and, to date, has been charging its customers in US dollars. Apple suppliers are planning to begin mass production of Apple’s iPhone 9 next month, Bloomberg has learned. The phone will be less costly and is expected to be announced as early as March.
