Samsung has been ranked among Kenya’s top three strongest brands in the 2026 Superbrands East Africa rankings, emerging as the country’s top electronics brand and the top-ranked foreign brand overall. The recognition places Samsung among Kenya’s most highly regarded brands across all sectors, with a Superbrands score of 89.622. The ranking is based on consumer evaluation of quality, reliability and distinction, three attributes that speak to the strength of a brand’s reputation and its ability to consistently meet consumer expectations.
Conducted by Kantar across 112 categories, the research assessed the perceptions of Kenyan consumers towards established brands, making the recognition significant as an endorsement rooted in the market itself. For Samsung, the achievement speaks to the confidence consumers place in the company and its products as well as the meaningful role its technology plays in their everyday lives.
Nyawira Muraguri, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics East Africa said, “Ranking among Kenya’s top three strongest brands is an affirming achievement for Samsung, particularly because this recognition comes directly from consumers. It is a confirmation of the trust we have built in this market and the expectations that come with it. We recognize that a strong brand is not built on reputation alone. It must be supported by the quality of what it delivers, the consistency of the experiences it creates as well as its ability to remain relevant as consumer needs evolve. This is the standard we continue to hold ourselves to at Samsung. Kenya plays a key role in our regional strategic ambitions and this ranking confirms that indeed the brand is doing the right thing when it comes to the needs of the Kenyan consumer. As the country embraces new opportunities in digitalization and technology, Samsung Electronics remains committed to bringing innovation closer to consumers, supporting the country’s digital aspirations and creating technology experiences that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.”
The recognition comes at a time when consumer trust is becoming an increasingly important consideration in purchasing decisions. The Kantar research found that 86% of surveyed consumers are likely to purchase products or services carrying the Superbrands seal, while 84% say the recognition would increase their trust in a brand. Additionally, 81% believe the seal helps brands distinguish themselves from competitors. The findings point to a broader shift in the relationship between consumers and brands. Beyond awareness and visibility, consumers increasingly value brands that demonstrate consistent quality, deliver on their promises and offer a clear reason to be chosen. For Samsung, this reinforces the importance of maintaining a consumer-led approach to innovation. Across its portfolio of mobile devices, televisions, home appliances and connected technology, the company continues to advance products and experiences designed to respond to changing lifestyles, improve convenience and expand the possibilities of connected living.
This commitment is supported by Samsung’s broader vision of using technology to improve everyday experiences and create opportunities for people, businesses and communities. As Kenya’s digital economy continues to develop, Samsung remains focused on contributing to this progress through innovation, connectivity and technology that serves consumer needs.
