Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S24 series in Kenya. The official retail prices for the S24 series start at Ksh 175,000 for the base model 8/256GB model and goes for as high as ksh 277,000 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra at 12/512GB variant. The series has been on pre-order the last 3 weeks.

    Galaxy AI

The Galaxy S24 series is not just another smartphone; it represents the future of AI-powered devices. Anthony Hutia, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa, stated, “The Galaxy S24 series demonstrates our initial step toward a new era of AI phones that go beyond the current smartphone. Galaxy AI will permanently change the way people interact with the world, opening up endless possibilities.”

Galaxy AI introduces new and practical features designed to enhance communication, creativity, and exploration. Live Translate and Chat Assist break down language barriers, while Circle to Search with Google sets a new standard for efficient searches. The ProVisual Engine, a suite of AI-powered camera tools, empowers users with new zoom capabilities and generative AI-assisted editing, providing a revolutionary photography and videography experience.

Samsung is committed to making these cutting-edge innovations accessible to a wider audience. The Galaxy S24 series offers more language options for AI features, extending beyond the initial 13 languages. Moreover, most Galaxy AI experiences will be made available to previous models, including the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series, through software updates.

The Galaxy S24 series provides an impressive seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. This is quite impressive as most smartphone manufacturers stick to 4 years of major OS updated.

The Galaxy S24 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. This promises better performance and gaming capabilities. We will be getting the Exynos version in Kenya which is not necessarily what i prefer.
