Samsung Officially Unveils the Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S24 series. Comprising the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24, this latest release introduces Galaxy AI, an innovation that promises to amplify user experiences across various aspects of daily life.

Speaking after the global launch, the Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa, Anthony Hutia said the Galaxy S24 series will ignite the next decade of mobile innovation. “Galaxy AI is built on our innovation heritage and deep understanding of how people use their phones. We’re excited to see how our users around the world empower their everyday lives with Galaxy AI to open up new possibilities.”

Galaxy S24 Pricing and Pre-orders in Kenya

For those who want to be the first ones to get their hands on these devices, the recommended retail prices are:

  • The Galaxy S24 8+256GB at Ksh 174,999.
  • The Galaxy S24+ 12+256GB variant at Ksh 189,999.
  • The Galaxy S24+ 12+512GB variant at Ksh 234,999.
  • The Galaxy S24 Ultra 12+256GB model at Ksh 274,999.
  • The Galaxy S24 Ultra at 12+512GB variant at Ksh 276,999.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy S24 series in Kenya will open from January 18, 2024, until February 13, 2024. Those getting the 256GB storage variant during pre-orders will be upgraded to the 512GB storage variant. Those who pre-order will enjoy exclusive Samsung Galaxy VIP services, including same-day device repairs for any damages.

Pre-order benefits

Samsung has partnered with leading brands in Kenya to offer exclusive benefits to Galaxy S24 series pre-order customers:

  • Kenya Airways, through its Asante Rewards program, will provide Galaxy S24 series customers with free access to lounges, preferred seating, extra legroom, an additional bag, and a 75% bonus on miles for every flight.
  • Safaricom offers free 45GB data for pre-orders made at their shops.
  • JTL Faiba Mobile provides free 65GB data and 50 minutes to other networks.
  • Absa Bank credit card holders can purchase the Galaxy S24 series with repayments as low as Ksh13,000 monthly.

Galaxy AI

The Galaxy S24 series introduces Galaxy AI, a suite of intelligent features aimed at enhancing various aspects of life:

  • Live Translate facilitates real-time voice and text translations of phone calls within the native app, breaking down language barriers effortlessly.
  • Chat Assist refines conversational tones in messages and other apps, ensuring effective communication.
  • Note Assist in Samsung Notes offers AI-generated summaries, template creation, and cover creation for organized note-taking.
  • The Circle to Search feature in Google transforms online search by allowing users to gesture on the screen, providing helpful search results.

Improved imaging

The ProVisual Engine in the Galaxy S24 series enhances image capturing capabilities and creative freedom. The Quad Tele System in the Galaxy S24 Ultra offers 5x optical zoom, enabling optical-quality performance at various magnifications. Nightography capabilities are upgraded for brilliant photos and videos in any conditions, even at high zoom levels. Galaxy AI editing tools empower users with features like erase, re-compose, and remaster, offering unprecedented creative control.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, the Galaxy S24 series promises better performance and gaming capabilities. We will be getting the Exynos version in Kenya which is not necessarily what i prefer. The displays offer vibrant visuals, with the Galaxy S24 reaching a peak brightness of 2,600nit and improved outdoor visibility with Vision Booster. Advanced security features, including Samsung Knox, passkeys, and Enhanced Data Protection, ensure user privacy and choice.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a titanium frame for enhanced durability, while the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 have a One-mass design. This series will be available in kenya soon so Keep it here to know when that happens.
