The Nokia 5.3 Officially Launches in Kenya

Nokia 5.3

HMD Global has officially announced the availability of the Nokia 5.3 in Kenya. The Nokia 5.3 is available in the country for Ksh 23,000.

The Nokia 5.3 is one of the handful of devices that HMD global announced back in March. The device comes with a 6.55-inch display with HD+ resolution and has a 20:9 aspect ratio. Powering this phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor that has been paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This can be expanded up to 512GB using a MicroSD card.

“The Nokia 5.3 was designed to enable smartphone users to Go big and Go beyond. With the Nokia 5.3 you take pictures with a smartphone that has powerful AI imaging for an unparalleled imaging experience. The Nokia 5.3 is in a class of its own with an impressive 6.55” screen. That’s a huge screen that still fits in your pocket and two-day battery life for immersive entertainment on-the-go, all at an incredible price,” said Mark Misumi, HMD Global Business Manager East Africa.

Just like with all the new Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 5.3 is an Android One device and it comes with Android 10 out of the box. Since it is an Android One phone, it is guaranteed to get at least two major software updates (Android 11 and 12) and timely monthly security updates.

For the cameras, the Nokia 5.3 has a quad setup at the back made up of a 13MP main sensor, 5MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies it has an 8MP sensor. HMD says these cameras should ensure one of the best photography experiences in different lighting conditions.

The Nokia 5.3 has a 4,000 mAh battery that is not that mind blowing in 2020 but the company says the AI-assisted Adaptive Battery can ensure you get it to last longer than most other batteries of the same capacity.

The Nokia 5.3 is available in three colours of Cyan, Sand and Charcoal.
