The latest smartphone from Infinix has just been announced. This new phone is the Infinix Hot 5 and has been announced by Infinix Nigeria through its Twitter account. We are yet to get any information about its availability in Kenya but I am sure it will make it way over here very soon.

The Infinix Hot 5 comes less than a month after the company unveiled yet another entry level device, the Infinix Smart, that is available in Kenya for Ksh 7,999. From what I understand, the Infinix Smart is positioned as the company’s cheapest device so the Hot 5 will be slightly expensive than it, expect it to retail for more than Ksh 8,000.

Given that Infinix isn’t saying much about this device, we are not sure what the company has planned for it except for the tagline ‘My Mobile Cinema’ as you can see from the tweet below.

The Infinix Hot 5 comes with dual front facing speakers and this is what the company refers to when talking about the ‘cinematic feeling’. “Front dual speaker with amazing surround sound system… Dirac Stereo Widening technology produces realistic stereo sound,” the company explains. It looks like Infinix wants to position this device as an entertainment phone but what is strange is that this display is just HD not Full HD. If I am going to get a ‘Mobile Cinema’ as the company calls it, I expect at least to have a Full HD display for a much better viewing experience.

whenever I see that mt 6580 processor, i feel like dying, that has been used ever since the company started in Kenya and that 4 years old. they should look for better mt chipsets or switch to efficient snapdragon chipsets. the first hot note was more powerful than this thing
