If you love music, you have probably used Shazam at some point in your life. This is the app that helps you identify songs without the need of typing the lyrics on Google. The app has been used by millions of people and it is getting even better with the latest update.

Both the Android and iOS versions of the app have been updated with new features designed to make it easier for users to identify songs. The android version of the app just got a new shortcut that is designed to reduce the time and taps you have to perform to identify songs. To access this shortcut, all you have to do is firm-press the app access the shortcut.

As you probably have guessed (or not), this feature is available for those using Android Nougat. If you are running on any other OS version, you are out of luck at the moment.

With that said, Shazam has included minor update that those running Android Marshmallow or earlier will be able to enjoy. These other features are also available to those using Shazam on iOS too. With both iOS and Android, users will be able to scan ‘Shazam Codes’ with the cameras on their devices. The Shazam Codes will be found in all manner of things including magazines, products etc. when you scan the codes, you will be able to unlock “augmented reality experiences” among other things.

In addition to the new features mentioned above, the update allows users to create accounts to keep all their Shazams backed up. With this, you will not lose them even when you get a new phone.

Lastly, the update fixes some bugs for the iOS app, if you have been experiencing any issues, you may want to grab this update.
