WhatsApp is no doubt one of the most popular apps out there. The app is well known as the go to instant messaging platform but it also has a voice calling feature that it rolled a while back. When WhatsApp rolled out this feature, we weren’t sure people would use it but it seems like we were wrong according to the latest stats from the company.

WhatsApp is reporting that over 100 million voice calls are made though its platform every single day. This can be translated to 1,100 voice calls every second. 100 million voice calls every day is a huge figure for WhatsApp considering that the voice calling feature is not that popular and not many people know about it. I don’t use it personally but I know very few people who use it from time to time.

A statement from WhatsApp says, “For more than a year, people have used WhatsApp Calling to talk with friends and family around the world. It’s a great way to stay in touch, especially when connecting with people in other countries, or when messages alone won’t do. Today, more than 100 million voice calls are made every day on WhatsApp – that’s over 1,100 calls a second! “

WhatsApp will definitely work hard to get more people to use this feature going forward. There are over 1 billion people using WhatsApp so am sure the company can get that number up as long as users find it more convenient to use WhatsApp voice calling instead of the normal network-supported voice calling.
