Last week LG showcased some of its latest home appliances and other products at its annual InnoFest event that was held in Seoul this year. “The event gave partners, retailers and media from countries across the Middle East and Africa the opportunity to experience LG’s revolutionary technologies and learn about the key business strategies and priorities for the year ahead,” said the company. The exhibition featured simulated living spaces that gave visitors a chance to see flagship home appliances from the LG ThinQ, LG SIGNATURE and LG Objet ranges in action. Speaking on this, James Lee, president of LG Middle…

It looks like the smartphone megapixel war has kicked off and Infinix is one of the first smartphone manufacturers to take part in it. The company has launched the Infinix S4 which comes with a 32MP front-facing camera. I am not sure you need all that and if you know a thing or two about cameras, then you know that there is more to the camera and image quality besides the megapixel count. That aside, the megapixels still play a big role in image quality but keep in mind it is not the only determining factor. With a 32MP selfie…
Gone are the days when affordable smartphones were associated with not so good experiences. This was evident to me last year when I reviewed the Tecno Spark 2. When it was launched, the phone was available for Ksh 9,999 and has been my favourite smartphone within this price range. The phone just works, it does what the company promises and outshine competitors. With the success of the Spark 2, I was excited to test out the Tecno Spark 3 Pro, its successor that is currently available in Kenya. I wanted to see if the Spark 3 Pro lives up to…
The Tecno Spark 3 Pro was launched in Kenya a couple of weeks back as the successor to the successful Spark 2 series from last year. The phone is available in the country from Ksh 12,500, a sweet spot for a smartphone targeting the masses. The Tecno Spark 3 Pro is the first smartphone from the company to be launched in Kenya this year and I am curious to see what it has to offer. With the success of the Tecno Spark 2 from last year, I want to see if the company is able to match that with this…
The Nokia 7.1 is one of HMD Global’s mid-range smartphones available in the country for around Ksh 30,000. At this price, as a customer, you are expecting a good and reliable smartphone that should do what you expect it to. This phone has been available in Kenya since November last year and I have had a unit to review for over a month. Design and Build The Nokia 7.1 looks and feels premium. HMD Global has put in the time to make this phone and that will be clear from the very first time you see this phone. It looks…

The Evolution of the notch has been an interesting one. When we first saw the notch on Android smartphones, not everyone was excited with this new trend. The only people that may have been excited were the smartphone manufacturers who made it seem like a new thing that would revolutionize the smartphone experience. This has not been the case but the notch is still here and smartphone buyers do not have many options if they are planning to avoid it. We now have smaller cut outs that do not seem as intrusive as the previous ones. The notch is still…

Huawei’s latest flagship smartphone, the P30, is coming to Kenya next week. The phone was unveiled in Paris late last month and is on its way to Kenya. Huawei has shared this information through its official Twitter account saying that the phone will be here on April 10, one week from today. It is impressive to see the company launch the P30 series in the country this fast as this is not the case with other manufacturers. Some manufacturers take months before unveiling their latest smartphones in the local market and its good to see that is changing. At this…
WhatsApp is one of the best apps I have on my phone. It makes communication easy and smooth but one thing I hate about it is that people can add you to random groups and there is nothing you can do to prevent that. Even though groups can be useful, you never have control over who can add you to them. You may wake up one day and find yourself in a few WhatsApp groups that you may not want to be in. Anyone can add you to a WhatsApp group and in some cases leaving the group will just…
