Cross Switch has announced the appointment of Gillian Koinange as Head of Business Development, East Africa. This exciting appointment reinforces the company’s commitment to accelerating growth and deepening its presence across the region.

Gillian brings over two decades of experience driving revenue growth and building strategic partnerships across Africa, with a strong focus on the IT, telecommunications, fintech, and SaaS sectors. She is recognized for her ability to scale pan-African portfolios, lead high-performing teams, and deliver impressive commercial outcomes in complex markets.

In her new role, Gillian will be responsible for expanding Cross Switch’s footprint in East Africa, strengthening relationships with key partners, and driving the adoption of the company’s payment solutions across the region.

In previous roles, Gillian led new sales across Africa and managed strategic global client relationships, most recently for PayU in Nairobi. She will bring these skills to Cross Switch, as well as her ability to negotiate high-value contracts and build enduring partnerships. Her leadership style combines strategic vision with data-driven execution, enabling sustainable growth and long-term client success.

Gillian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and is a Kellogg-certified sales specialist. She is known for her infectious enthusiasm, client-centric approach, deep regional expertise, and commitment to innovation in the fintech space.

In Gillian’s own words, she brings “A potent mix of strategic planning, partnership development, and an uncanny ability to see opportunities where others see obstacles.”

Her appointment underscores Cross Switch’s continued focus on strengthening leadership to drive high standards in service delivery and innovation.
