Bolt and Gebeya have partnered to ease the mobility challenges for Africa’s fast-growing service workforce. The collaboration will begin in Kenya and Ghana but will later be expanded into other African markets where both companies operate.

The partnership targets one of the biggest barriers faced by independent workers across the continent, the high cost and inconsistent availability of transportation needed to reach clients and job opportunities. As part of the initiative, users on Gebeya’s Jitume platform (“Jitumers”) will receive exclusive Bolt ride discounts to make daily movement more affordable and support business growth.

Daniel Njomo, Country Sales Manager, Bolt Business in Kenya, said the partnership is designed to empower the continent’s informal and digital workforce.

“Service professionals are the backbone of Africa’s informal and digital economies, yet mobility remains one of the most persistent challenges they face. Our partnership ensures that thousands of independent workers can move more affordably and reliably, enabling them to focus on delivering quality services and expanding their income opportunities.”

In the next rollout phase, Jitumers will be able to create Bolt Business accounts and extend discounted rides to their own customers. This feature aims to help service providers such as beauty professionals, technicians, and tutors enhance their client experience by offering safe and affordable transportation as part of their service.

Gebeya CEO and Co-Founder, Amadou Daffe, said mobility is essential to how service professionals operate.

“Whether they are going to a client’s home, a workplace, or moving equipment across town, mobility is central to how our Jitumers work. By collaborating with Bolt Business, we are removing a major pain point and empowering service professionals to deliver more, earn more, and build stronger customer relationships.”

Gebeya’s Jitume platform currently connects over 44,000 service providers across 24 countries, covering wellness, home maintenance, education, and digital services. Bolt, which operates in 12 African markets, serves millions of riders and drivers through its consumer and business mobility solutions.
