Samsung may be known for its high-end Galaxy Watches, but the Galaxy Fit 3 proves the brand can deliver an impressive, feature-packed fitness tracker without breaking the bank. After wearing it for two weeks, I can confidently say this is one of the best affordable fitness trackers you can buy in Kenya right now — as long as you’re on Android.
Design and Display
The Galaxy Fit 3 is a huge leap forward from its predecessor, the Fit 2. Samsung has gone for a sleeker look with an aluminum body and a noticeably larger 1.6-inch AMOLED display. The screen is bright, crisp and easy to read even under direct sunlight, thanks to an effective auto-brightness feature.
It’s also lightweight, weighing just 18.5 grams, making it comfortable enough for all-day wear and sleep tracking. That said, the sensor on the underside sticks out a little, which can make the strap feel slightly tight during workouts or hot days. Still, the overall design feels premium for a tracker that costs less than Ksh 7,000.
The Fit 3 is 5ATM/IP68-rated, meaning you can shower, swim, or sweat in it without worry. Samsung also made it easy to swap straps.
Features and Smart Functions
The Galaxy Fit 3 may be a budget tracker, but it doesn’t feel like one. It tracks steps, calories, heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO₂), stress and sleep.
You also get smartwatch-style notifications, music controls, weather updates, and Find My Phone functionality. If you’re using a Samsung phone, you’ll unlock a few extra perks, such as camera control and snore detection (which relies on your phone’s microphone).
Performance and Battery Life
Setting up the Fit 3 is quick and easy through the Samsung Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health apps. The interface is smooth and the touchscreen feels responsive, even with wet or sweaty hands.
Samsung claims up to 13 days of battery life, but that’s in ideal conditions. In my real-world testing, with heart rate, sleep tracking, and notifications on, I averaged 7 to 10 days between charges. Enabling the always-on display drops that to about 4 or 5 days.
Charging takes just over an hour using the included USB-C charger.
In terms of accuracy, the Fit 3 performed reasonably well. Sleep tracking was also accurate. The data looked detailed inside Samsung Health, complete with sleep stages and a “sleep animal” profile.
Everyday Use and Comfort
The Fit 3 is light, simple, and unobtrusive, everything a casual tracker should be. You can wear it to the gym, at work and even to bed without it getting in the way. It’s great for people who just want to monitor general activity, get gentle nudges to move and have a better picture of their daily habits.
Notifications come through instantly, and the vibration alerts are strong enough to wake you up or get your attention during the day. If you’ve ever misplaced your phone, the Find My Phone feature is a lifesaver.
Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 vs the Competition
At Ksh 6,500, the Fit 3 competes directly with the Huawei Band 9/10 and Xiaomi Smart Band 10.
Its biggest limitation remains Android-only support, iPhone users are completely locked out. But for Android users, especially those within the Samsung ecosystem, it offers exceptional value.

The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 is one of those devices that gets the essentials right. It’s not trying to replace a smartwatch, it’s here to make fitness tracking accessible to everyone.
If you want to track your workouts, sleep, and daily health stats without spending too much, this is a fantastic option. For Samsung Galaxy phone owners, it’s even better.
