Uber has announced the launch of Uber Van in Kenya. This is its  largest ride option available that riders can get through the Uber app. The option connects riders with  vehicles having at least 6 passenger seats. It is perfect if you have a large group and want all people on the same trip.

Whether you are going on a family holiday (and packed one too many bags), or going to an event with a group of friends, Uber Van has got you covered with rides in vehicles with more space and more seats.

According to Uber, they are launching this service as it has been requested by riders when they travel from the airport, or when they ride in large groups, they are looking for bigger vehicles with enough space for their luggage and travel groups. Uber Van is our largest ride option for this purpose.

“Uber Van is our premium ride option for riders looking for luxury or large groups of up to 6 people. The fare for a trip on Uber Van will be higher than an equivalent trip taken using an Uber Comfort or UberXL ride option,” Uber said in a statement.

How to Request Uber Van in Kenya

Open the Uber app and enter your destination in the “Where to?” box. Once you confirm that your pickup and destination addresses are correct, select Uber Van at the bottom of your screen. Then tap to Confirm.

After matching wiith a driver, you’ll see your driver’s picture and vehicle details and can track their arrival on the map. Check that the vehicle details match what you see in the app before getting in your Uber.

Like with any other ride, you can add multiple pickups along the way and split the fare.
