A few days back, Multichoice Kenya announced that it has rebranded the DStv App to DStv Stream. I first told you about DStv streaming availability in Kenya last year and you can read more about that here.
DStv Stream should not be confused with DStv streaming though as it is a rebrand of the DStv App. Through this app, users will be able to get better personalization, easier streaming experience and a better UI. Viewers can easily switch soundtracks to their local languages even when streaming live sports.
Targeting Growing Streaming Market
Multichoice says the launch of DStv Stream is targeting the increase in use of smartphones and tablets. The app is available to existing DStv subscribers so you will need a DStv package to take advantage of this. The company wants to take advantage of the growing video streaming service. According to Ronald Baraka, MultiChoice Kenya Head of Marketing, they are launching this app to respond to the changing consumer needs and preferences that are mainly driven by convenience.
“As part of DStv’s enduring commitment to creating value and enhancing the viewing experience for customers, the app brings the ultimate streaming experience right to your fingertips,” he added.
An all-inclusive App
Multichoice says the DStv Stream app is all-inclusive and has a wide range of content for the whole family. “This all-inclusive entertainment platform continues to bring the best in local, international, sports, and kid’s content from wherever the viewer is,” the company said.
The app has all you need from Live football to catching up some of the shows you may have missed. The app is available on smartphones, tablets and Smart TVs but not laptops.
