Beta testing for the iOS to Android WhatsApp transfer has begun

Just over a month ago, we reported to you that Meta has collaborated with Apple to make it easier to transfer WhatsApp data from Android to iOS. The app’s beta version 2.22.15.11 is now making support for transfers from Android to iOS available to all users.

To do this, you need to utilize the Apple Migrate to iOS software, have adequate battery life, and be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. The remainder of the procedure is described in detail and easy to follow. The call history cannot be transferred, unlike the conversations and photographs, among other things.

On Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has said that WhatsApp should be able to “securely move from one phone to the next and transfer your chat history, images, videos, and voice chats across Android and iPhone while retaining end-to-end encryption.”

As a result of the process, “the data will not be transferred to the cloud as a result of the migration until you have created an iCloud backup,” reads the dedicated help page. Meta shows a white paw saying, “WhatsApp cannot see the data you are transferring.” Finally, we can read that “your Android phone will always contain your data unless you delete WhatsApp or erase your phone.”

Other WhatsApp features are more or less quietly being released in beta. According to reports, the instant messaging service is developing its own Memoji for video calls and aims to enhance group talks.
