Spotify unveils a Supergrouper feature, a new playlist-making quality from Spotify

Finally, Spotify has unveiled a feature that will make creating playlists more straightforward. The feature has been dubbed Supergrouper, first being tested in the  United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

Later on, the feature will be unveiled to Africa and hopefully Kenya.

A supergroup is a musical ensemble of several notable musicians from well-known bands. The Spotify blog describes how to create titles that combine the vocals of Florence + The Machine with a Run-D.M.C. instrument by selecting up to five artists, giving them a position (leader, lyricist, legend, or “hypeman”), and letting the algorithm handle the rest.

we may infer that Supergrouper will create a playlist in that groups have randomly chosen songs from the discographies of each artist you’ve selected for your “supergroup.” Not before giving you a lovely snapshot to post on social media to demonstrate to your fans how diverse your taste is.

The feature only provides an option for making playlists and is mainly included in the expanding list of features targeted at enhancing the leader in music streaming’s social capabilities.

How To activate the SuperGroup feature on Spotify

  • Update your Spotify app
  • Go to https://spotify.com/supergrouper.
  • Choose the musicians you want in your ideal band.
  • Select the roles that they will play, such as “The Lead,” “The Lyricist,” “The Hypeman,”
  • Give your Supergroup a unique name to personalize your branding.
  • Share your Supergroup with friends on Social media by using the unique card generated

As a reminder, Spotify was launched in Kenya in 2021 and has managed to pull quite a number of streaming subscribers. In the country, the streaming giant offers an option of upgrading to Spotify Premium for Sh299 per month. Other subscriptions include Spotify Premium Duo for Sh389 per month and Premium Family for Sh479 per month.

In the coming months, the “Community” component of Spotify’s desktop application should also make its arrival on mobile. A way to keep an eye on what your friends are listening to and another excellent opportunity for the firm to offer us personalized playlists.
