Twitter is now showcasing images at a better and bigger crop on the timeline, which nearly but not entirely removes the need for that extra tap. Mostly, though, unfortunately, the new better previews are in some way spoiling the open for surprise fun tweets.

Starting yesterday evening, Twitter on Android and iOS users started seeing comparatively bigger and better image previews.

The company announced the feature in March, alongside an increase in the image upload limit on mobile devices from 2K to 4K. Twitter started allowing mobile users to upload images in 4K last month.

The increase in image upload limit also came with a much-reduced compression ratio which ensures images appear crisper on the platform.

Here’s how to upload 4K Images on Twitter for Android and iOS if you’re not in the loop already.

Given that recent improvements have been all about images, it doesn’t mean videos are handled better on Twitter. It’s nothing short of awful. Hopefully, we get to see an improvement in this regard in the future.
