The OPPO A93 has officially been launched in Kenya today. The A93 is available in Kenya for Ksh 30,999 right around the same price its predecessor, the OPPO A92, was available for. The A93 builds on the A92 adding a few improvements to these series.

I did review the OPPO A92 a few months back and loved it. It was a very powerful phone that delivered more than what I was expecting. I am keen to see what the A93 will offer and if it can live up to my expectations.

I do have the OPPO A93 in for review and in this post I will be unboxing it and sharing my top three features of this phone.

Before we get to the unboxing, let us look at the key specifications of the OPPO A93.

    • Display: 6.43-inch ; 1080 x 2400 pixels
    • Chipset: Mediatek Helio G95
    • RAM: 8GB RAM
    • Storage: 128GB
    • Rear cameras: Quad:48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP
    • Front camera: Dual: 16MP + 2MP
    • Battery: 4,000mAh

    What is in the box?

    • The OPPO A92
    • A Pair of Earphones
    • USB C Cable
    • Wall Adapter for charging (supports 18W fast charging)
    • Silicone Case
    • Screen protector (already installed)
    • SIM removal tool
    • Safety guide and quick guide

    First Impressions

The OPPO A93 feels a lot like the more expensive OPPO Reno 4 that I reviewed recently. This is a much better design and feel than the one we had on the A92. It is thinner than the A92 and feel lighter overall.

    OPPO A93 back

At the back we have the quad camera setup arranged in a rectangular module. I got the blue variant of this phone that has a purple-ish tone on the edges and this gives it an appealing look.

    OPPO A93 cameras

As with every OPPO smartphone, the volume buttons are on the left of the phone with the power button on the right. Unlike the A92, the fingerprint scanner on the OPPO A93 is not embedded underneath the power button but is rather embedded under the display. It works fine and is very easy to setup.

The headphone jack, USB C port and speaker grilles are on the bottom of the phone.

For the display we are getting a 6.4 inch one with dual front facing cameras on the top left corner. Having used these cameras already, I am impressed, they are really good.

    OPPO A93 display

Powering the OPPO A93 is the MediaTek Helio P95 processor that has been paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. The phone comes with Android 10 out of the box with ColorOS 7.2 on top. With this setup, you are expecting good performance and that is exactly what I have gotten so far, the phone handles tasks with ease without struggling. I will be using the phone extensively for the next few days and share my full review then.

    3 Things I Like
