    Netflix is opening up its platform, by offering a number of Movies and TV shows for free. Anyone even users without a Netflix account can watch these selected titles for free.

    This is the first time Netflix is offering keys to its platform not only without having a subscription but also without an account. Depending on your location, you will be able to stream different titles. In Kenya, there are 10 titles available on Netflix for free streaming.

    These include;

    • The Two Popes – movie
    • Our Planet – docuseries
    • Elite – series
    • Stranger Things – series
    • Boss Baby – Back in Business – series
    • When They See Us – series
    • Love is Blind – series
    • Bird Box – movie
    • Murder Mystery – movie
    • Grace and Frankie – series

    Go to netflix.com/watch-free and see what’s available for free. And yes, you don’t need to sign up at all! Shows available for free may change from time to time, according to the company.

    “We’re looking at different marketing promotions to attract new members and give them a great Netflix experience,” Netflix said in a statement.

    N/B: Our Planet was already available for free on YouTube courtesy of Netflix.

    Streaming Competition

    Competition in the streaming industry is heating up every now and then and everyone’s trying different ways to steal your free time – and money. Over the past year, a number of streaming services have sprung up with different techniques to entice new customers.

    A notable launch is NBC’s Peacock – not available in Kenya – which is a free streaming service supported by advertising. It’s clear Netflix doesn’t want to lose its market share. Loosening its paywall abit is a strategic move in that direction. In other markets, like India, Netflix is testing cheaper subscription plans.
