A few days back, we told you that Huawei had plans to launch two new smartphones in Kenya. These are the Huawei Y6p and the Huawei Y8p. Both of these are P series devices and they will be the second and third devices in this series to launch in Kenya this year.

The Huawei Y6p and Y8p are finally available on pre-order in Kenya for Ksh 14,999 and 24,999 respectively. Those who pre-order the Huawei Y6p will get gift hampers worth Ksh 3,299 while those who pre-order the Huawei Y8p will get gift hampers worth Ksh 5,099.

Speaking of the pre-order, Jim Zhujie said, “Many users do not expect mid-range smartphones to offer cutting edge technology, instead they are looking for a well-balanced device. Simply put, with a low budget, you can get a smartphone that satisfies you and HUAWEI Y8p and Y6p provides just that. Take advantage of this pre-order period and get yourself a device that will serve the purpose when it comes to photography, battery performance among others. You will also get some interesting gift hampers that are worth the pre-order. “

    The Huawei Y8p

The Huawei Y8p is the more expensive of the two and comes with a Triple camera setup made up of a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Huawei says the phone’s capability to take good shots in low light environments is what truly makes it stand out. This is all talk and actual real-world use is what will determine if the phone is any good or not. For selfies it has a 16MP selfie camera that is sufficient.

This phone has a 6.3-inch 1080p OLED display and is powered by the Kirin 710F processor. This is paired with 4 or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. It comes with Android 10 preinstalled and as expected, no Google services are available on it. This will be challenging but those who are curious on how to get apps if you have no Google Play on your phone, I did a post on that which you can check down below.

Take a look at some of the other Huawei Y8p specifications.

    Display: 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels
    Processor:  Kirin 710F
    RAM: 4 /6GB
Storage: 128 GB internal storage expandable to 256GB

    Battery: 4.000 mAh battery
Android:  Android 10.0; EMUI 10.1, no Google Play

    The Huawei Y6p

This is the second Y6 device we are seeing in Kenya this year. One of its unique selling points is the 5,000 mAh battery that should easily last you an entire day or even two. This battery according to Huawei can also act as a power bank that charges other devices. This will be appealing to some people especially those who are always carrying two phones and may not want to walk around with a power bank.

Here are some Huawei Y6p specifications.
