Telegram is still game to become the best instant messaging app around. The latest release currently shipping brings a bunch of new functionalities inside the app across Android, and iOS.

After releasing its powerful photo editor in 2015, the company is now bringing handy video editing capabilities within the app.

The media editor can now edit not only photos but videos and animated stickers, too. The editor helps you enhance video quality in just two taps but has additional manual parameters to play around with like brightness and saturation.

For animated stickers, you can place one right on top of a video or a photo and it will act in a lively manner. A photo will turn into a GIF the moment you can an animated sticker on top of it.

Besides, the new version has also upgraded the GIF panel to include two new sections; Trending section and an emoji-based tab. The emoji-based tab is what you’ve been waiting for in Telegram, folks. This section makes it simpler to search for gif versions of emojis without a hassle.

After folders were rolled out a few months ago in Telegram 6.0, the new version makes it easy to add or remove a chat from a folder (hold on any chat in the list to add/remove it to one of your folders).

Android users get a little bit more functionality in the latest version. Telegram for Android has new smooth animations, few improvements in the video player, and a facelift for the Cache management interface (Settings > Data and Storage > Storage Usage).
