A few days ago, we told you that OPPO was planning to launch the Reno 3 in Kenya this coming week. This is one of the latest smartphones from the company that will be available in Kenya for Ksh 40,000.

Before its official release in the market, the OPPO Reno 3 is available on pre-order in Kenya for those who want to be among the first ones to own the device. The Reno 3 will be the first major release from OPPO to launch in Kenya this year. It does build up on the OPPO Reno 2 series from last year.

Those interested in this phone and want to pre-order can do so through OPPO Kenya’s Facebook page. Customers who pre-order the device will also get a package that includes a pair of OPPO headphones and an in-vehicle phone charger. The reason for having the pre-order on Facebook has everything to do with the directive by the Government on the importance of social distancing as a measure to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Back to the phone, it does come with a 48MP, 20x Digital Zoom Camera; a first-of its kind 44MP Front Camera with Ultra Night Selfie Mode and Ultra Steady Video 2.0. OPPO has always been known for its cameras and this is not any different with the Reno 3.

The Reno 3 is not about the camera as it has more to offer. According to Muthoni Wachira, OPPO Kenya PR & Corporate Communications Manager said, “Many cutting-edge imaging technologies and design techniques are perfectly fitted into the Reno3, making it a highly competitive and trendy photography smartphone. We are confident that Reno3 will carry on the Reno legacy by providing its users with a holistic experience, further strengthening our regional market presence, and redefining the way trend-setting elites leverage new-age technology on their smartphones.”

Here are some of the OPPO Reno 3 specifications.

    • Display: AMOLED Capacitive touchscreen, 6.4” with ~84.2% screen-to-body ratio.
    • Chipset: Mediatek MT6779 Helio P90

    • OS: Android 10.0 with ColorOS 7
    • Internals: 8GB RAM with 128GB; expandable
    • Rear camera: Quad: 48MP + 13MP + 8MP + 2MP
