Infinix has today officially announced the availability of the Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite smartphones in the Kenyan market. The two devices are available for Ksh 9,999 and Ksh 10,999 respectively. You can get both devices through Infinix retail outlets countrywide and online through XPark, previously known as Infinixmall. Most of the specifications of the Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite are the same with the processors and RAM being the key differences.

The Infinix Hot 8 in Kenya has been available on pre-order for a couple of weeks and its good to finally see it retail stores. I will be reviewing this phone in the coming weeks as I am interested to see what it has to offer compared to the Infinix Hot 7. Since the Hot 8 is in a competitive price segment, it does have an uphill task but we have not seen that many devices within this price range in the last month or so and this may be advantageous for Infinix.

One of the key selling points of the Infinix Hot 8 is the 5,000 mAh battery. This is an absolute beast that I expect to last for at least two days even with heavy usage. This battery supports fast charging and you should be able to top it up in a short time. This is vital as the 5000 mAh battery could have taken way longer to be charged fully.

“The Infinix HOT series aims to empower young people with boundless entertainment experience fueled by transformative mobile technology. We observe the trends of online and offline entertainment in global emerging markets where technologies apply. We found that young people desire to connect and share their life with their communities in various ways, such as social networking, gaming, streaming, and partying.” Said Benjamin Jiang, Managing Director of Infinix Mobile.

As with most recent smartphone from Infinix, the Hot 8 series comes with a triple camera setup at the back. These include a 13MP main sensor, 2MP one and what Infinix calls an AI lens. I will have to get my hands on this phone just to see what this is all about.

Below are some of the other key specifications of the Infinix Hot 8 and Hot 8 Lite.
