What Google’s Premium Playstore Subscription “Play Pass” Entails

Earlier this year Apple revealed their ambitions of launching Apple Arcade, a game subscription service that would then pioneer the market as first of its kind. However, since that has not yet arrived, a new competitor from a different space is already making moves on the market. Google is also testing out its Playstore subscription service dubbed “Play Pass.”

At only $4.99 (about Ksh 515) a month, you will have access to a collection of premium applications for free. This may be a feature to help you save some bucks especially if you have several monthly app subscriptions.

The $4.99 comes with premium app membership, including music streaming apps, puzzle games, among other apps that will fall under the service. Play Pass also includes access to games –with no ads, free in-app purchases, and most importantly a wide range of premium apps that you can download for free at no additional cost.

Play Pass will probably rake in more income for Google and developers citing how the numbers are already enormous. There’s also a 10-day free ride allowance for you to test out the service which I hope will still be available once PlayPass goes live.

The news, initially narrated by Android Police states that a Google spokesman has confirmed their ongoing plan with Play Pass. Although it is not yet clear on the final monthly pricing, we will update you with more once Google shades more light on the same.
