Lava Mobile is the latest smartphone manufacturer to make its way to Kenya. This Indian company officially entered the market last week and has a handful of devices available through e-commerce platform, Jumia. The company has a number of affordable devices from feature phones to smartphones available at different prices. The Kenyan smartphone market is getting tough and it is interesting to see new manufacturers still interested in it.
One of the smartphones the company has launched is the Lava Z81 which in Kenya is retailing at Ksh 12,000 for the 2GB version and Ksh 14,000 for the 3GB version. I have used this phone for a few days and I am impressed, I did not expect it to be any good but it is. It will be interesting to see how it competes with the other devices on the market.
