Fortnite is one of the most popular games out there. The game has been available on PC for a long time but only made its way to Android devices recently with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. When the game was made available to Android phones, it was exclusively available on Samsung phones and required a beta invitation to be installed. Of course, there are people who found workarounds but this was the company’s official stand.

Epic games, the makers of Fortnite, have confirmed that things have now changed and those on Android are free to download the game on their phones. The company says that you no longer need an invitation to download Fortnite on your Android phone. To get it, just go to fortnite.com on your phone to get started.

    Device Requirements

Before you head over to the company’s site to download the game, just know that there are requirements and if you do not meet some of them, you will not be able to install the game.

According to Epic games, to play Fortnite on Android, your device has to meet the following requirements:

    • Run Android 8.0 Oreo or higher
    • Have 3GB of RAM or more
    • Have Adreno 530 GPU or higher, Mali-G71 MP20 GPU, Mali-G72 MP12 or higher

I tried installing it on devices that do not meet all these requirements and was not successful.

Epic games has also shared a list of devices that are compatible with Fortnite and they include.

    • Samsung Galaxy: S7 / S7 Edge , S8 / S8+, S9 / S9+, Note 8, Note 9, Tab S3, Tab S4
    • Google: Pixel / Pixel XL, Pixel 2 / Pixel 2 XL
