These Are the Huawei Smartphones That Are Scheduled to Get Android Oreo (EMUI 8.0) from Tomorrow

Huawei has never been among the first smartphone manufacturers to update its devices with the latest Android updates. The company normally takes time before updating most of its smartphones and in some cases does not update some of them entirely. This is always a bummer as some of the people who own its devices are stuck with old Android variants as other people get upgraded.

If you own any of the recent smartphones from Huawei, you should be happy to know that the company has plans to roll out EMUI 8.0 that is based on Android Oreo to a few of its devices. According to mysmartprice, EMUI 8.0 will roll out to a number of Huawei and Honor devices. These include the:

    • Huawei P9
    • Huawei P9 Plus
    • Huawei Mate 8
    • Honor 8
    • Honor Note 8
    • Honor V8
    • Honor Play 6X

As you can see, the Huawei smartphones getting the update are the flagship units and don’t hold your breath if you have an entry level or mid-range device from the company. Most of these will never get updated and the best bet is for you to buy a new phone that comes with EMUI 8.0.

It is even reported that EMUI 8.0 rolled out to the Huawei P9 earlier this week. The P9 was released back in 2016 and it is amazing to see the company is still supporting this device up to this day. I reviewed the phone back in the day and it was and still one of the best smartphones from the company that I have ever owned.

The update should start rolling out to Huawei and Honor phones in China tomorrow before expanding to other markets.
