These are the Samsung Smartphones and Tablets Scheduled to Get Android Oreo

Samsung is yet to update any of its existing devices with Google’s latest mobile OS variant, Android Oreo. This will change soon as the company is believed to be finalizing things before pushing the update to some of its devices on the market. Samsung has never been quick when it comes to rolling out new updates so we are always left guessing as to when the company would push out updates and which devices get the said updates.

In 2018, Samsung plans to update a good number of its devices with Android 8.0 Oreo. There is a leaked list of eligible devices that are scheduled to get the update sometime in the year. This list has not been confirmed by Samsung so things may change down the road. Even though that’s the case, so far it reveals the devices that will be getting Android Oreo. The list includes both smartphones and tablets and is quite extensive to be honest.

To start with the smartphones, below are the ones scheduled to get Android Oreo.

  • Samsung Galaxy A3 2017
  • Samsung Galaxy A5 2017
  • Samsung Galaxy A7 2017
  • Samsung Galaxy A8 2016 SM-A810
  • Samsung Galaxy A8 2018
  • Samsung Galaxy A8+ 2018
  • Samsung Galaxy J3 2017
  • Samsung Galaxy J5 2017
  • Samsung Galaxy J7 2017
  • Samsung Galaxy J7+
  • Samsung Galaxy J7 Duos 2017
  • Samsung Galaxy J7 Max
  • Samsung Galaxy J7 Neo
  • Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime
  • Samsung Galaxy Note FE
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8
  • Samsung Galaxy S7
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 Active
  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S8+

As you have noticed, the list is long and most of the devices there are from 2017. The company also plans to upgrade its 2016 flagship, the Galaxy S7.

The smartphones aside, the company also plans to upgrade the following tablets.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM-T355
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM-T380/T385 2017
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 SM-T580
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 SM-T825

I am expecting Android Oreo to roll out to Samsung devices (the S8, S8+ and Note 8 specifically) very soon, just after the launch of the Galaxy S9 later this month.
