Android Wear 2.0 Update Delayed Because of a Bug

Yesterday, we told you that Android Wear 2.0 had started rolling out to some older devices.  The update is to roll out to three smartwatches in the beginning before other units get it later this year. These three include the Fossil Q Founder, Casio Smart Outdoor Watch, Tag Heuer Connected.

If you have any other smartwatch, you will have to wait a little longer to get this update. This is because Google is still fixing a bug it found on the OS. This bug is not so easy to fix and that is why it has taken this long for Android Wear 2.0 to be public. If you remember correctly, Android Wear 2.0 was to be released in 2016 but that did not happen until February this year.

Google says it is working to fix the bug but did not say when it will be able to push out the final build to the public. In a statement, the company said:

“We have started rolling out the Android Wear 2.0 update to Fossil Q Founder, Casio Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 and Tag Heuer Connected. For other devices, the update is currently being delayed due to a bug found in final testing. We will push the update to the remaining devices as soon as the issue is resolved.”
