The one thing BlackBerry is known for is the physical QWERTY keyboard that it has embraced even as other manufacturers have gone with onscreen keyboards on their smartphones. This QWERTY keyboard has become a signature look for the company and this has made it hard for BlackBerry to ditch it.

Going forward, BlackBerry has announced that it will stop manufacturing its smartphones in house and outsource the operations to its partners. The company announced this a few days ago saying that this will help it reduce expenses and might help the company survive in the smartphone jungle. With this change, the company has assured its fans that the QWERTY keyboard is not going anywhere in case they were wondering.

This is not the only change the company is implementing going forward. The company has also announced that it will license its iconic QWERTY keyboard to other smartphone manufacturers. The company has not confirmed any manufacturer it plans to license the keyboard to but I guess we will know more about that later.

BlackBerry has to work with other manufacturers if it is to stay relevant on the market. I am excited about these new changes the company is working on and providing some hardware or software to other smartphone players in other markets might help the company is some ways. The company is clearly not the smartphone power house it used to be. It has to be innovative in the way it operates on the market.

We will have to be patient and see what BlackBerry does and which companies it works with in the future.

The company has also announced that it will invest more on software and specifically in the security field. The company has proven to be a serious security player and it definitely has a bright future in this field.
