If you own the original Galaxy A5, you may be happy to know that Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is finally available on your device. Samsung has started rolling out the update to a few users in South Africa and Europe. This is the initial rollout and you should be patient if you do not have it on your device just yet. These updates take time and are not usually available to all users at the same time.
This update brings the normal Android Marshmallow features including Google Now on Tap, the latest security patches, redesigned app permissions and the Doze feature. This update comes to the Galaxy A5 almost a year after Google released it and a few weeks before the release of Android 7.0 Nougat. Even though its late, am sure those who own the A5 will be happy that they are finally getting the update.
Android MarshmallowAndroid Marshmallow update for the Galaxy A5 is available over the air (OTA) so you will have to wait a few more days or weeks before you can get it. How long you will wait will vary depending on your location, you will get a notification of the same when the update is available on your device.
If you cannot wait for the update notification, you can do so manually by going to the settings menu and see if it available for you.
