The Samsung Galaxy S7 is Doing Quite Well, Sales Expected to Reach 25 Million by The End On June

During Mobile World Congress 2016 (February 22), Samsung officially introduced its 2016 flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The reception was very good and within the first two days of the device hitting the market, it managed to sell over 100,00 units.

Sales figures have been rising ever since and by April 4, over 9 million units had been sold. This is very impressive for a smartphone company and especially for Samsung, a company that has faced stiff competition in the smartphone market as more and more manufacturers enter the market.

It looks like Samsung is looking at a bright future as some reports coming out of South Korea indicate that the combined Galaxy S7 and S7 edge sales may reach the 25 million mark by the end of this month (June). This is not that hard to imagine since sales surpassed the 9 million mark back in April and by then the phone was not available in all markets.

According to the reports in South Korea, Samsung’s success can be attributed to three main things, aggressive marketing, early launch, and decent quality. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphone are beautifully so they easily appeal to those who are after looks.

One of the sources in Korea is quoted saying that the Galaxy S7 edge is outselling the regular Galaxy S7 which is quite strange and unexpected. The S7 edge is seen as a more niche products and is a bit more expensive so I did not expect it to outsell the standard S7.

For the second half of the year, the analysts in Korea expect Samsung to see a decline in sales but not so much. This is not so bad for the company as it will be getting ready to unveil the next Galaxy Note device. Hopefully the Galaxy Note 7 will help Samsung stay profitable as the S7 sales drop.
