Facebook is undoubtedly the King when it comes to social networking. The social site has the highest number of registered users even though not all of them are active users.
This past Monday, Facebook said that it reached a new milestone which saw over 1 billion people use the site in a single day. This has never happened before so it is a huge deal. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO, said, “We just passed an important milestone. For the first time ever, one billion people used Facebook in a single day.”
Facebook is obviously excited with this as its CEO went ahead to say, “When we talk about our financials, we use average numbers, but this is different. This was the first time we reached this milestone, and it’s just the beginning of connecting the whole world.”
“I’m so proud of our community for the progress we’ve made. Our community stands for giving every person a voice, for promoting understanding and for including everyone in the opportunities of our modern world,” Said Zuckerberg.
With such numbers, Facebook gets even more attractive to advertisers and this is the main reason why the company has revealed the figures. It will be interesting to see if Facebook maintains it here or if it was just a one off thing.
