The Next Flagship Smartphone from Sony Will Be Unveiled In May

Sony usually unveils its flagship Smartphones at Mobile World Congress but this year things will be different. Sony is believed to be planning for a May launch for its first flagship this year and/or November for its second flagship. Currently, Sony’s schedule involves releasing new flagship devices after every six months.

Sony is trying to stay relevant on the market with diminishing profits thanks to market domination by the likes of Samsung and LG. At one point, Sony  was said to be focusing on high end Android devices and ditch the entry level one. This I think is the best move for the company that seem to be losing its place in the Smartphone market. Now all Sony has to do is invest more in marketing if they are to reclaim lot glory.

Launching after Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) may hurt Sony slightly as established brands such as Samsung and HTC will be unveiling their flagships during this time. Samsung is looking to introduce the Galaxy S6 at MWC 2015 while HTC will be unveiling the HTC One M9.

We will be waiting to see what Sony does but let hope they do not hoot themselves on the foot by trying to be different.
