Skype for Android Gets Its First Major Update Allowing Multitasking Even When On a Video Call

Skype for Android has received its first major update of 2014 that allows you to multitask on your phone even when on a video call. Skype has had the picture-to-picture feature on Android tablets for a year now but the same has not been available on Android Smartphones.

With this feature, you can continue using your phone even if you are on a video call and still not lose the call. This is particularly a neat feature for those working on the go.

Skype has said that this update will also improve the functionality of the app in general. With it, updates will load much faster especially if you open them from a notification. The update also allows Skype users on Android Smartphones to receive pictures from Skype customers using the iPhone, a feature that has not been available before. The update also brings bold, italic and strikethroughs as text format options.

To get the update, head over to Google Play Store and get it right now. Below is a video introduction of Skype for Android tablets. Watch it to see some of the other cool features that you will be getting.
