Galaxy Gear 2 May Run On Tizen

samsung galaxy gear smartwatch sg 252 820x420

we are less than a week to Samsung’s “unpacked 5” event at Mobile World Congress and as usual we expect a whole range of products from the company. The main star of the show will definitely be the Galaxy S5 but there are other devices from Samsung we expect during this event.

One other device expected is the updated version of the Galaxy Gear. Samsung claims to have sold over 800,000 Galaxy gears and it is not a surprise to see the company bring out a new gear to try and match these figures. Of course there have been rumours that the sales figures for the Galaxy gear were  less than those proposed by Samsung.

At this point, it does not really matter how many Smartwatches were sold as we are only interested on the upcoming Galaxy gear. The rumours of the device running on Tizen show that the company feels confident with this device. This is not all for Galaxy Gear as The Verge is reporting that various models of the Gear will be unveiled during this event.

All I need on the new Gear will be better battery life and cross platform support for me to even consider getting one. The camera on the Gear is also kind of creepy and does not excite me per se and I would not mind to see it gone.

Since no other information is available at the moment, we will have to wait till Monday to see what Samsung has planned. What features will you be looking for on the Galaxy Gear 2? Share your thoughts with us.
