The Kenyan Government has published new rules for the digital taxi platforms that will see the services lower the commission they require from drivers to 18%. These rules have been published by Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia. Autochek has today announced the acquisition of CoinAfrique, a classified ads platform in French-speaking Africa. According to the company, this acquisition will help it expand its auto financing services to Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and other French-speaking African countries. Bolt has opened its Africa head office in Nairobi joining a number of tech companies that have chosen Kenya as their regional hub. Microsoft opened the ADC offices earlier this year and Google is planning to do a similar thing in the country too.  According to the Business Daily, Bolt head offices will be in Riverside Drive and will host top managers overseeing operations in the region. She is currently Safaricom’s Chief Consumer Business Officer, a position she has held since July 2021.
