Earlier today, Safaricom 5G went live in Kenya with availability limited to a few places across the country. The company also shared that those with 5G devices from OPPO, Huawei, Samsung and iPhones (to support Safaricom 5G after an update) will be able to use Safaricom 5G. Safaricom has today officially launched its 5G network in Kenya. The service is available in select areas in Kenya. The company said that availability and affordability of 5G devices is still an issue in Kenya.The company said that 4G penetration is also still an issue for a part of the population. OPPO Kenya has officially launched the latest devices in the Reno series in Kenya. The series has two main devices, the standard Reno 8 (4G) and the Reno 8 5G. The two phones will be available for Ksh 42,999 and Ksh 59,999 respectively. They will be available on pre-order from today till October 31. Spotify has today announced the first-of-its-kind podcast initiative on the continent, the Africa Podcast Fund, with the goal of supporting podcasters and further amplifying their stories. This $100,000 fund seeks to bolster the careers of these podcast creators through financial grants, workshops and networking opportunities.
