To keep up with the rising cost of fuel, Uber has reviewed its prices upwards adding a Ksh 10 fuel charge to the minimum rate those using its services pay. This will bring the minimum fare charged to Ksh 160 from 150 for Uber ChapChap. The Kenyan Government has published new rules for the digital taxi platforms that will see the services lower the commission they require from drivers to 18%. These rules have been published by Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia. Bolt has opened its Africa head office in Nairobi joining a number of tech companies that have chosen Kenya as their regional hub.
