Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has reported a 37% year-on-year increase in pre-tax profit to KSh 9.8 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026.
The banking group said its customer base grew by 44% to 5.9 million across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda during the period.
DTB’s total assets rose by more than 10% to KSh 675 billion, while customer deposits increased 11% to KSh 534 billion. Loans and advances grew 14% to KSh 328 billion.
The bank also highlighted the growing role of digital channels in its expansion. 99% of new customers acquired over the past year were onboarded digitally, while more than 86% of customer transactions were conducted through digital channels. DTB extended KSh 10 billion in digital loans to retail and MSME customers during the first half of the year.
DTB Kenya Managing Director Murali Natarajan said the bank expects to open its 100th branch in Kenya by Christmas, taking its regional branch network to 163.
The bank is also investing in automation and artificial intelligence, including robotic process automation and planned deployment of agentic AI solutions to improve customer experience, controls and compliance.
