Cassava Technologies has announced the launch of Cassava Autonomous Network, an AI-powered solution designed to optimise mobile Radio Access Networks (RAN) across the continent.

The solution is powered by NVIDIA AI infrastructure, NVIDIA NIM microservices and NVIDIA Network Configuration Blueprint. It automates network management tasks previously done manually. Cassava Autonomous Network uses policy-driven automation to continuously optimise networks, reportedly reducing operational bottlenecks and increasing efficiency by up to 75%.

Built on CAIMEx, a localised multi-model AI platform, the network provides unified access to leading AI models through regional AI factories. The platform is designed to work across all network generations, from 2G to 5G, including legacy, hybrid, and cloud-native deployments, and supports multiple vendors.

According to Ahmed El Beheiry, Group COO and Group Chief Technology & AI Officer at Cassava Technologies:

“Cassava Autonomous Network combines NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure with the inclusivity of Africa’s network needs and Cassava’s extensive experience in the telco industry. With this solution, we are delivering a significant step toward intelligent, self-healing, autonomous networks that drive coverage, quality, profitability, and improve customer experience across the continent.”

The solution aims to address the growing complexity of African telecom networks, where 4G remains dominant and 5G is scaling rapidly. By automating daily optimisation processes, Cassava Autonomous Network reduces repair time for minor network issues from four days to approximately 35 minutes, according to the company.
