MultiChoice Kenya has kicked off the festive season with major price cuts on its DStv and GOtv hardware.
The company announced that the DStv Zapper decoder will now retail for KES 850, down from KES 1,199, while the GOtv decoder is now priced at KES 799, a reduction from KES 999. In addition, new subscribers will enjoy discounted installation accessories: the DStv Dish Kit now costs KES 1,650 (down from KES 2,000) and the GOtv Antenna drops to KES 700 from KES 1,000.
These limited-time offers run until December 31, 2025, and are available through MultiChoice service centres, authorized dealers and retailers across Kenya.
“This festive season, we are turning every moment into a celebration by making it easier for families to connect with the content they love,” said Nzola Miranda, Managing Director at MultiChoice Kenya. “Whether it’s live football, local dramas, or kids’ shows, our goal is to ensure there is something for everyone, in every home, at an affordable price.”
The move comes just months after MultiChoice increased subscription prices in August 2025 across most DStv and GOtv packages, citing rising operational costs and investments in local and international programming. The timing of the new hardware discounts suggests the company wants to expand its shrinking customer base and make its services more accessible. This is all happening as competition in the streaming and pay-TV market intensifies.
MultiChoice’s local content lineup remains a key attraction. Sports fans can also look forward to live Premier League and AFCON matches, while kids are catered for with content from Moonbug, Cartoon Network, Disney, and CBeebies.
“At MultiChoice, we believe entertainment brings people together, and there is no better time to celebrate connection and togetherness than during the festive season,” added Miranda. “These offers are our way of saying thank you to our customers for their loyalty and trust, while inviting new customers to join our growing family.”
With Showmax’s new direction under CANAL+ and the continued push to bundle streaming and satellite TV services, the discounted hardware prices could also be a strategic step to onboard more customers into the MultiChoice ecosystem ahead of 2026.
