The Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is one of the latest in Samsung’s A-series lineup. This phone is available in Kenya for Ksh 31,800 and it might just be the brand’s best midrange release yet. From performance to camera to AI, this phone brings a lot to the table for the price.

Here is everything you need to know

    1. Display and Design

The Galaxy A36 5G comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up from 90Hz on the A26.
Colors are vibrant, motion feels fluid, and the phone’s flat design with slimmer bezels makes it look premium, closer to the Galaxy S24 than you’d expect.

The phone comes in subtle pastel finishes that feel smooth and modern.

    2. Performance and Storage

Under the hood, the A36 5G runs on the Exynos 1380 (or Snapdragon variant depending on region), paired with up to 12GB of RAM (with RAM Plus) and 256GB of storage.

In day-to-day use, this setup handles multitasking, streaming, and gaming effortlessly. Compared to the A26’s Unisoc chip, it’s a big performance leap.

    3. Camera Setup

The phone has a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP depth camera.

Photos are sharp, with improved low-light performance and better color consistency. The 13MP front camera delivers clean selfies and benefits from Samsung’s improved AI skin tone processing.

    4. Galaxy AI Features

The Galaxy A36 5G comes with Galaxy AI and this adds features such as:

    • Circle to Search for quick visual lookups
    • Live Translate for calls and messages
    • Chat Assist for tone rewriting
    • Object Eraser for photo cleanup

    5. Battery and Charging

The 5,000mAh battery easily lasts a full day, even with heavy use. It supports 25W fast charging, which gets you from 0–50% in about 30 minutes.

It’s not the fastest in the market, but battery endurance remains one of Samsung’s strongest points.

    6. Software and Updates

The phone runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1 out of the box and is eligible for four years of OS updates and five years of security patches.

That’s one of the best long-term support policies in the midrange segment.

    7. Price and Availability

The Galaxy A36 5G is priced around Ksh 31,800 in Kenya, depending on the configuration.
It’s available at Samsung Experience Stores, authorized dealers, and major online retailers.

    Summary

The Galaxy A36 5G hits the sweet spot, great display, solid performance, long battery life, and now, smart AI features.

If you’re upgrading from the A24 or A25, this is a no-brainer. If you’re buying your first 5G phone, it’s one of the best all-rounders in its class.
