Epson has been recognized as the 6th most innovative company in the prestigious Clarivate Top 100 Global Innovators 2025 ranking, announced by global information services firm Clarivate Plc. This marks the 12th time Epson has been featured on this esteemed list since its inception in 2012.

Epson’s Commitment to Innovation and Co-Creation

Toshihiko Kobayashi, General Administrative Manager of Epson’s Intellectual Property Division, expressed his gratitude for the recognition:

“We are deeply honored to be named among the world’s top innovators. In March 2021, we introduced our strategic vision, ‘Epson 25 Renewed,’ which will reach its final year in fiscal 2025. While Epson has long been committed to leveraging proprietary technologies to address societal challenges, under Epson 25 Renewed, we have shifted from an in-house development approach to fostering co-creation with like-minded partners.

Intellectual property plays a crucial role in enabling these partnerships, serving as a key asset that facilitates collaboration with innovative and capable companies. Moving forward, we remain dedicated to protecting our proprietary technologies and using our intellectual assets to drive meaningful co-creation that addresses global challenges.”

The Clarivate Top 100 Global Innovators ranking evaluates companies and organizations worldwide based on their patent portfolio quality and innovation impact. The selection process follows a twin-track methodology:

Track One: Identifies leading innovators based on patent filings, holdings, and an “international factor,” which measures the global reach of inventions.Track Two: Assesses patent influence, success rate, geographic investment, and uniqueness, comparing these factors against all other patented ideas.
