BYD Set to Launch its Electric Vehicles in Zambia in Partnership With PEM (Pilatus Electric Mobility Zambia Limited). Through this partnership, PEM will now be called BYD Zambia.

In Zambia, BYD plans to sell three vehicle models that include the Dolphin, the ATTO 3, and the SEAL.

The BYD Dolphin is a compact sedan with a range of 420 km, the ATTO 3 is a versatile SUV with the same 420 km range while the SEAL is considered a high-performance sedan with 570 km range.

Commenting on this, Tue Nyboe Andersen, Executive Director of BYD, said, “I started the journey of bringing BYD to Zambia four years ago, together with my wife Angelika, and with the encouragement of my father-in-law Joe Huwiler from Pilatus. We have created PEM, Pilatus Electric Mobility Zambia Limited, which is the electric mobility arm of Pilatus Engineering. It was a great experience to see my first BYD vehicle, and it fueled me with further excitement and determination to bring BYD to Zambia.”
