Glovo recently hosted its first Partners Day event in Mombasa, aimed at empowering local business partners through training and development. The event, conducted in collaboration with Ongoza, covered essential aspects of business management.

With the participation of over 20 partners, the training session underscored Glovo’s commitment to supporting local SMEs. Partners received practical guidance on managing their finances, leveraging online marketing, and effectively utilizing the Glovo platform for growth.

Caroline Mutuku, General Manager of Glovo Kenya, highlighted the initiative’s significance: “Our goal with Glovo Partners Day is to equip our partners with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed. By supporting our partners, we contribute to the local economy and create a stronger community.”

A representative from Ongoza noted, “Partnering with Glovo for this event allowed us to extend our mission of empowering local entrepreneurs. The training provided practical tools and insights crucial for sustainable business growth.”

One of the participating partners, Shaulene Lulahi, from BiteBox Kenya, shared her experience: “Through Glovo’s teaching, I’ve learned a lot about how businesses can grow their presence on a global scale. I’m definitely very inspired by the potential for expansion.”

The Partners Day event in Mombasa is part of Glovo’s broader expansion plan to ensure accessibility across Kenya. By digitalizing more local businesses and providing them with growth opportunities, Glovo aims to help them succeed in the market. This initiative is supported by the Glovo Local pillar which comprises Glovo Academy and SME booster program that has fostered the growth of over 400 businesses in Kenya to date.

Through initiatives like these, Glovo highlights its commitment to contributing positively to the local economy and the communities it serves, fostering strong relationships with local businesses, and helping them thrive.
