The OPPO Reno 10 5G is the latest addition to OPPO’s growing smartphone lineup in Kenya. The phone is currently available in stores for Ksh 56,999. You can get the phone through Jumia as well as most other smartphone retailers across the country.
The Reno 10 is the successor to the Reno8 T that I reviewed earlier this year. I loved the Reno8 T and its design and build was a massive upgrade compared to its predecessor, the OPPO Reno 8. OPPO has kept this same design with the Reno 10. This phone not only catches the eye with its sleek design but also delivers a noteworthy performance that caters to various needs
Having used this phone for a few weeks, I will share my thoughts on what it has to offer in this review. Have a look at the phone’s key specifications before the review:

Elegant Design
The OPPO Reno 10 stands as a testament to OPPO’s commitment to aesthetics. Crafted with a back cover that gleams like ice, it comes in the alluring Ice Blue and Silvery Grey variants. I do have the Ice Blue variant that looks stunning. The 3D curved body gives it a comfortable grip while making a bold style statement. The innovative camera module further adds a touch of sophistication, making it a device that truly stands out in a crowd.
The curved edges make it comfortable to hold and carry around. The phone comfortably sits on the palms of my hand when using it or when I am carrying it around.
Sharp Display
Equipped with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ 3D curved screen, the Reno 10 offers an immersive experience. Its 1080 x 2,412 resolution, coupled with HDR 10+ support, results in a display that’s nothing short of stunning. With a 240Hz touch sampling rate and a 120Hz refresh rate, interacting with this phone feels incredibly smooth. The absence of bezels and a small chin provides an immersive viewing experience, making it perfect for multimedia consumption.
The display also produces accurate colors and has very good viewing angles. Since this is an AMOLED display, the blacks are really deep making the phone perfect for media consumption.
Performance
Underneath its elegant exterior lies a powerhouse. The Reno 10 boasts an octa-core 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Whether you’re gaming, multitasking, or streaming content, this device handles it all with finesse. I have played a couple of games on this phone including Asphalt 9 and PUBG without any issues. The phone handled all these games and day to day tasks with ease.
The ColorOS 13.1, based on Android 13, ensures a user-friendly interface, allowing for a seamless experience. ColorOS does not deviate from stock Android that much so you will feel right at home if you have interacted with Android before. There are a number of customization options with ColorOS 13.1 that should make the experience even better.
Photography Master
The Reno 10 features a triple rear camera setup, including a 64-megapixel Omnivision primary sensor, a 32-megapixel Sony IMX 709 telephoto sensor, and an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide sensor. While the primary lens captures vibrant details, the telephoto lens steals the spotlight, delivering sharpness, even in intricate details. Portrait shots are impressive, with excellent edge recognition and skin tone accuracy. This is one of the phone’s key selling points and it does a good job at that. Portrait accuracy is perfected by the software and you can see it in action after taking the phone. The results are stunning either way. Even in challenging low-light conditions, the telephoto lens performs admirably, ensuring your night photography is top-notch.
When it comes to videography, the Oppo Reno 10 doesn’t disappoint. While recording in 4K at 30fps, colors are vivid, and dynamic range is commendable. The presence of stabilization ensures your videos are steady, capturing every moment with precision. Whether you’re a videography enthusiast or someone who loves recording life’s moments, this phone is your perfect companion.
Battery Life
Packed with a 5,000mAh battery, the Reno 10 ensures you sail through the day with ease. I had no issues using it the whole day on a single charge without the need of recharging it. What’s more impressive is the 67W SUPERVOOC charging, promising a full charge in less than 50 minutes. With its Battery Health Engine (BHE) technology, the phone’s battery is designed to endure, retaining 80% health even after 1,600 charge cycles.
Hit or Miss?
In a nutshell, the OPPO Reno 10 is not just a smartphone; it’s a statement. It’s for those who demand style without compromising on performance. While its camera might have a few quirks, its overall package of design brilliance, display excellence, powerful performance, and enduring battery life make it a compelling choice. If you seek a device that seamlessly blends elegance with functionality, the OPPO Reno 10 is your answer.

does the phone speaker produce enough bass like most redmi phones
Yes, the phone has good bass. It has stereo speakers that give an immersive sound
Thanks for the reply. am saving for it though am not sure if i should wait for Reno 11 since it has been launched in india and china already, not sure when it will be launched in kenya and if its price will shoot up or if it will be a bit closer to reno 10’s price
Not sure when it Will be launched in Kenya but it might be soon. As for price, it may not be too expensive but it is hard to predict given how the dollar has been flactuating recently
